Right now, only Odisha and West Bengal allow alcohol delivery to your home. People in these states can order beer, wine, and liquor online through apps or websites, and the bottles come to their house.
According to a report by Times of India, many other states are thinking about starting this service. These include:
Delhi
Karnataka
Tamil Nadu
Punjab
Goa
Haryana
Kerala
These states may start with beer and wine delivery before adding hard liquor.
There are a few good reasons:
Young people and working professionals want convenience and fast delivery like they get for food or groceries.
Women and older people feel safer ordering from home than going to liquor shops.
State governments can earn more money from taxes if they allow legal delivery.
Swiggy and Zomato, which already deliver food, are ready to help. Dinker Vashisht from Swiggy said, “We can check age, follow alcohol rules, and make sure delivery happens only at the right time.”
Rahul Singh, CEO of The Beer Cafe, said, “This step will help the economy and give people more comfort at home.”
There are still a few challenges:
Making sure only adults can buy alcohol
Following the rules of each city
Making sure people don’t drink too much
Some states may start small tests (called pilot projects) in 2025. If they go well, more cities may allow alcohol delivery in the future. But each state has its own rules, so it may take time.

Conclusion:
Ordering alcohol from your phone may soon be possible in Indian cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai. But it must be done safely, with rules and checks in place.
